Ministerial Scholarship Julia Tapia (English)

The attached documents (in English and Spanish) explain in detail a new Ministerial Scholarship being offered through El Redentor Presbyterian Church in honor of long-time ruling elder and deacon, Julia Tapia of El Redentor.  Julia's mother was one of the first women converted to Christianity by Presbyterian missionaries in the island of Puerto Rico.  For decades, Julia has been actively involved at all levels in the Presbyterian Church (USA).  This Ministerial Scholarship intends to defray some of the cost of purchasing textbooks for Hispanic women with limited financial resources who are pursuing theological studies in an accredited seminary and an acceptable theological institution compatible with the Presbyterian Church (USA).  Please help us spread the word and, if possible, support the fund.  A committee approved by the Session of El Redentor is already at work and would like to start taking applications and (by faith!) begin disbursing the monies to qualified Latinas.  We are asking individuals, denominational groups, and institutions to help in any way possible.  Thank you.

Los documentos adjuntos (en inglés y español) explica en detalles una nueva Beca Ministerial ofrecida por la Iglesia Presbiteriana El Redentor en honor a la anciana gobernante y diaconisa por muchos años, Julia Tapia de El Redentor. La madre de Julia fue una de las primeras mujeres convertidas al cristianismo por misioneros presbiterianos en la isla de Puerto Rico. Por décadas, Julia ha estado involucrada activamente en todos los niveles de la Iglesia Presbiteriana (EUA). Esta Beca Ministerial tiene la intención de sufragar un poco el costo de comprar los libros de texto para mujeres hispanas de escasos recursos financieros, quienes están obteniendo una educación teológica en un seminario acreditado y en una institución teológica compatible con la Iglesia Presbiteriana (EUA). Favor de ayudarnos a regar la voz y, si es posible, aportar al fondo. Un comité aprobado por el Consistorio de El Redentor esta listo para trabajar y le gustaría empezar a recibir solicitudes y (por fe!) comenzar a distribuir el dinero a latinas calificadas. Estamos pidiendo a individuos, grupos denominacionales e instituciones que ayuden en cualquier manera posible. Gracias.
